It’s flowers this week in the FingerFood’s Theme Weeks challenge.
I do love doing bright dotted flowers manicures, but the weather’s not quite warm and sunny enough for me to feel like doing that just yet. I also like to try to use these challenges to stretch myself a bit. Hence how I found myself this morning watching endless videos about one-stroke painting.
I can’t claim to have mastered the technique, but I’m impressed that I managed to do it at all.
I was already wearing Zoya Blaze, so mixed up a complimentary pink colour using mainly crimson and white acrylic paints, but with a touch each of black, ultramarine and yellow ochre.
Then with a small flat brush that I bought from Banggood, I used that pink and white to create my flowers. They’re not meant to be any particular sort of flowers; I just made them up!
I cut my losses after a flower and two halves. I’m pretty impressed with myself, although I have to say that this technique is very forgiving.
Here are the manicures from everyone else that is participating:
- Colour: two coats of Zoya Blaze
- Flowers: one-stroke freehanded using acrylic paint
- Top coat: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri
