33DC Day 3: Tape Mani

My two most recent polish purchases are L’Oréal Color Riche Amazon Flower and NYC Blue Sky (which, like every other bottle of it I’ve ever seen, is mis-labelled as Raindrop). As the two newest, they are swatched next to each other on a nail wheel. I thought they complemented each other nicely, so chose them – along with silver – for this manicure, which is number three in the Crumpet’s Nail Tarts 33 Day Challenge.

I quite like doing tape manicures and don’t find it too much of a bother. The outcomes can be lovely, so the time investment is always worth it for me.

I used a combination of striping tape and painters’ tape. My striping tape has never been much good – the stickiness is often left on the wheel as I unravel it – so I only use it sparingly and I much prefer painters’ tape, as I think it gives cleaner lines.

The next challenge is tribal. It’s a good thing I have the weekend to do it. I have never done a tribal manicure and the thought is terrifying!

For this manicure I’ve used:
  • Base colour: two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls
  • Striped colours: NYC Blue Sky (mis-labelled as Raindrop), L’Oréal Color Riche Amazon Flower, Barry M Foil Effects Silver
  • Top coat: two coats of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-Chip

Have a look at what everyone else doing the challenge has come up with:
