Born Pretty Store zig zag decals
Today I have some fab decals from Born Pretty Store. I used one of the simple designs, a blue and brown zig zag from design C072, over cream. I painted three coats of OPI My Vampire Is Buff, top coated and let it dry, and then added the decals.
This is only the second time I’ve used decals, and they were really simple to use. To achieve this look on both hands, I needed two packs of the decals. One pack is only enough to do one hand – if you’re doing them all the same as I was. But if you’re more creative, you can use a mix and match approach and then there are more than enough for both hands.
After cutting them to approximate size, I worked one finger at a time. You just soak the decal for 20 seconds before slipping it off its card backing and applying to the nail. I found the best way to do it was to pick up the decal back to front on my finger, then quickly place it on a wet nail. It needs to be wet so that you can slide it around a bit to position it accurately. Quite often there was a little extra decal on my skin, but once I’d soaked up any excess water with a piece of kitchen roll, I found I could easily remove the excess with acetone and a clean up brush.
They dry nice and flat to the nail, but top coat completely eliminates any visible edges of the decal so that they look perfect. I’m really pleased with these; I’ve worn them for about three days now, which is a long time for me. If I stick with the simple look and just use one strip of design per manicure, I have another six I can do. Or there are endless possibilities for accent nails.
Here’s the other designs and colours that I could have chosen from:
