Maybelline Wine Shimmer
I have long lusted after some of the Zoya Ornate collection … Blaze, Aurora and Storm. These jelly based scattered holo polishes are just beautiful. But Zoyas are expensive and difficult to get in the UK.
So I was excited to see this Maybelline Color Show polish. I don’t normally stop to look for very long at the Maybelline stand. I don’t know why though. The polishes are inexpensive and they have some nice colours. I guess it’s because I’m more usually drawn to the Barry M stand, and by the time I’m finished there, I’ve spent so much I can’t justify looking at much else!
But I shall be keeping an eye on Maybelline in future, solely because of this little beauty, Wine Shimmer.
It’s a raspberry red jelly, full of shimmering holographic particles. It’s just wondrous. It’s a little sheer, so I used it over a base of Barry M Raspberry. I couldn’t get a photo in the sun, so you’ll just have to imagine those particles shimmering away in a rainbow of colours.
- Undies colour: one coat of Barry M Raspberry
- Colour: two coats of Maybelline Color Show Wine Shimmer
- Top coat: No. 7 Stay Perfect

This is absolutly stunning! Love it!
I have this one too! Even though it is really sheer I love it 🙂
It really is a fabulous colour! I picked mine up in London, but am yet to see it round by me. Glad I’ve seen it layered now as I think it took me 4 or 5 coats for full coverage.
