Ciaté Cabaret

Yesterday, I tried to stamp over my Wined Up manicure, and wanted to add an abstract pattern in gold. But it just wasn’t working for me. Even my trusty lint roller wasn’t removing my mistakes very well.

So I ended up taking it all off and plumped instead for this gorgeous purple colour from Ciaté – called Cabaret.

It came in my advent calendar, on day 5, and is the colour I most wanted to try. I have much darker purples and lighter shades that are more mauve or lilac, but I don’t have anything quite like this. It is a classy and sophisticated colour. I love it.

The first coat was very patchy, and a second coat still hadn’t made the colour completely opaque, but a third coat did the trick.

I’m still hankering to add my stamping. I may give it another try in the hope that my technique was off, rather than the image is not engraved well but perhaps this time silver would be better. Or I may use day 4’s caviar beads – Prom Queen – from the advent calendar. We’ll see.

For this manicure I’ve used:
  • Base: three coats of Ciaté Cabaret
  • Top coat: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-Chip
