Neon Pink with 3D Crystal Gems

In this post, I’m wearing Bundle Monster Sunset Walk, a neon pink gel polish – to which I’ve added some 3D crystal gems.

My camera hates bright pink, but this gel polish is most certainly bright and neon – it’s a true “highlighter pen” pink, and is just perfect for summer. It glows really brightly under UV light. My son has a neon party to go to soon, so this is one of the possible polishes I will wear for it. I’m not actually going to the party, but it’s not often (ever!) that I go out partying and I want to enjoy the neon effect to the full when I go to collect him!

I painted two coats, then added the rhinestone studs on two accent nails.  I used three rhinestones per nail. To add them, I dabbed a small amount of gel top coat onto the nail, then placed the studs. I have a gem picker/holder, but I didn’t have much luck in dropping the rhinestones onto the nail in the right place with it! It was a comedy of errors for a few minutes, placing and adjusting, replacing, readjusting. They slid around a lot and it took me a lot of patience to get them where I wanted them! I should just have used my wax pencil really; I’m sure it would have been so much easier!

When I was finally happy with my placement, I then dropped on some more gel top coat and cured.

It was wonderful to know that the gems were solidly placed. When I use regular nail polish top coat, I always worry that gems will fall off, which makes me touch them more often to check that they are still in place, which in turn – of course – makes them loosen and frequently fall off!

Bundle Monster Sunset Walk costs $4.99 – or $28.99 for the set of all 6 polishes in the Sands of Aruba collection. The rhinestones come in a wheel of different sized stones, which is sold as a pack of three wheels: different shapes of silver studs, different shapes of gold studs and different sizes of clear rhinestones. The nail art studs pack costs $5.25, but is currently reduced to $4.73.

For this manicure I’ve used:
  • Colour: two coats of Bundle Monster Sunset Walk (gel polish)
  • Gel top coat: W7 2 in 1 top coat / base coat (gel polish)
  • Studs: Bundle Monster 3D clear rhinestones
