Polish Party February: Chevrons: cream, peach and gold chevron French tips

In this month’s Polish Party challenge we’re doing chevrons.

I usually do three-coloured chevrons, splitting my nails equally into three. I have even done some as the latest manicure I did, for the GOT Polish challenge.  So, I thought I’d try something a little different and try some chevron French tips.

Firstly, I applied my base coat of OPI My Vampire Is Buff.  It took 3 coats to become opaque enough for my liking.

Then, for the chevrons, I did it first with chevron guides, but about twenty seconds after top-coating it, I dented it and in a fit of pique, removed it all. I could just have re-done that one nail, but was obviously in a mood for making things more difficult than they need be.

When I came to re-do it, I chose to freehand it, as I didn’t have as much time, and I didn’t have the luxury of waiting for it all to dry before using the nail guides. It’s therefore not as good as it was when I did it using the guides, but it’s not too shabby either.

I added Jess Harmony first, which is a lovely shimmery, pale copper colour. This is the first time I’ve used a Jess polish, which you can buy in Poundland. They’re a bit stinky, so perhaps not free from all the chemical nasties, but they have some lovely colours.

Then I added a coat of Revlon Classy, which is a browny peach, a bit like a pale Plasticine colour.

Despite the  angular lines, the colours make it look really quite delicate, which isn’t usually me.

I think that looks lovely. I know what you mean about it not being your style, I feel that way often about my posts and it confuses me when other people really like it!

That does look lovely though – very pretty and delicate.

I’m also really surprised sometimes by how much other people like a manicure I really don’t care for. I used to self-censor and not always tweet or Instagram the ones I didn’t like so much, but now I just put them all out there!

Very classy! <3

These are really lovely, I do like the colours together, even though they’re not really ‘me’ colours! Fab =)
