Rimmel Blue Eyed Girl

I bought this polish quite a few months ago now, and loved it so much I thought I would wear it straight away. But I bought it near the beginning of my polish obsession, when I was buying so much polish it seemed I’d never wear all of it! (And that still seems quite a way off today, even though I’ve slowed down a lot!)

It went on beautifully and I thought I’d found a new holy grail in polish. It also dried really quickly. Not quite as quickly as 60 seconds, as its name suggests, but fast enough to paint one hand, paint the other, come back and do a second coat on each hand, and then top coat straight away. I’d done a complete manicure within five minutes.

I could have managed with one coat, but did two just because I usually do. And it’s a lovely colour. This vibrant shade of blue is very me and just the kind of colour I love.

But … and there’s a big but. This went on yesterday evening, and already this morning I had a small chip. And I’d not even done much with my hands to warrant it. As I’m typing this now – just over 24 hours after putting it on – three of the nails have chipped.

I’m hoping it’s perhaps just the application (I’ve not wrapped the tips brilliantly). Or the new base coat I’m trying (also Rimmel). But until I wear it again, I won’t know for sure.

What’s your experience with Rimmel? Does it chip on you like mine has?

For this manicure I’ve used:
  • Base: two coats of Rimmel Blue Eyed Girl
  • Top coat: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-Chip
