Stamped Lace Nails: X is for: eXtra Special
I’ve chosen to create some stamped lace nails for X is for eXtra Special in the A2Z series challenge.
I tried to think of things that were extra special, but couldn’t come up with much. I had a bit of a Google and checked out some manicures on Pinterest, but still failed to be inspired by anything. Finally, I tried to think of things or events that were extra special. I thought of weddings, and hey presto, decided to do a bridal manicure.
I was married 18 years ago, long before I got into painting my nails, and long before nail art was a self-service kind of thing. So back then I just had a simple French manicure, painted for me at a beauty spa. I would much rather have had something like this. However, I don’t think I would have liked the agony of deciding exactly what to do, so perhaps the way it happened 18 years was best after all.
The base is 3 coats of Ciaté Amazing Gracie. It’s a very sheer, very pale pink. I wouldn’t much like to wear it on its own, but it’s perfect as a base for something like this. After 3 coats, there’s still a lot of visible nail line, which I don’t ordinarily like, but it was absolutely fine for this look; it just seemed right somehow.
The stamping is done with Konad White, using Born Pretty Store BP-02. It’s a buffet style plate with 4 lace designs on it.
- Colour: three coats of Ciaté Amazing Gracie
- Stamping polish: Konad White
- Stamping plate: Born Pretty Store BP-02
- Top coat: Glisten & Glow HK Girl
