2True Glitterati Shade 3 (Aqua)

A couple of months ago, fellow blogger Emma of Naily Perfect  posted about this polish in a Facebook group I belong to. Soon, we were all lusting after it and I duly trotted off and bought it, but am only now getting around to getting it on my finger nails!

I love it. It’s a bright blue jelly base with silver and turquoise hexagonal glitters, smaller royal blue glitters and a smattering of the tiniest glittery particles.

It was quite gloopy and difficult to apply and I wish I had layered it over another polish as it shows up a bit too light at the cuticle edge even with two coats. But the difficult application is sufficient trade-off for being able to wear such a sparkly, eye-catching polish. Sorry that the photos just don’t do it justice.

I used PVA glue as my base coat again, and one nail came a cropper after only a few hours’ wear. I’m not sure how I feel about PVA glue base coat as that’s twice (out of two times) that this has happened. Of course it’s great for removal, and is fantastic if you only want to wear a manicure for a short time, but <shock, horror> I was left with a naked nail for EVERYONE to see!

Sadly, 2true don’t seem to deem their polishes worthy of a name once they’re launched. Shade 3 is listed on a lot of websites that carry the press release for this collection as “Aqua”. That’s much better than Shade 3 and I can’t understand why they didn’t put it on the bottles!

For this manicure I’ve used:
  • Base: two coats of 2True Glitterati Shade 3 (Aqua)
  • Top coat: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-Chip
