L’Oreal Black Swan
That’s it. No more housework for me! I chipped the nail on the index finger of my left hand while filling the dishwasher. I filed down and rounded off the missing corner, which enabled me to keep the length of the nail, but it looks silly now. I’m thinking I may need to round the other corner to match.
The chip also removed half a nail’s worth of manicure. So my lovely lilac, white and purple flowers had to come off – boo.
To replace that, I’ve gone with plain old black. I own five black cream nail polishes, yet have never, ever worn a plain black manicure. The closest I’ve come is layering a glitter over black. I don’t know why I’ve never done just black though, because I love it on other people, and I love it on me.
This is two coats of L’Oreal Color Riche Black Swan with a top coat.
It’s beautifully opaque and glossy. I really love the wide, flat L’Oreal brush; it makes application really quick and easy.
I’m covering up the bottle in the first shot, so I thought I would add a pic of that.
I have great plans for transforming this manicure into a different look. If all goes well, then the next post will reveal all!

Argh no – breakage is the worst:( But the black mani is lovely.
I’ve realised that it was actually broken already. The nail had been patched (with a bit of tea bag and nail glue) some time ago. It was broken below the nail line, so had been there quite a while and wasn’t that far from growing out. I hadn’t had to replace it for a week or two, and I think I’d weakened it by accidentally using acetone on that finger last time I removed the polish. All of that, plus a knock, and there was no way it was going to last.
Still not going to do the dishwasher though!
My deepest sympathies on the loss of your nail. #8(
Good thing about nails…they do grow back! #8)
