33DC Day 27: A mani with 3 patterns

I really struggled with the prompt for Day 27 of the Crumpet’s Nail Tarts 33 Day Challenge.

I just didn’t know what to do. I considered doing a nail with three patterns on it, then repeating that across all my nails, but I only had last night to do this manicure, and that wasn’t going to be enough time to do a complicated colour block manicure with different taped or stamped sections.

So in the end I just adapted my existing manicure, which was Essie Cashmere Bathrobe, into a skittle manicure. I’m not sure I like the finished look. I don’t think it’s coherent enough; it just looks like different nails with a vaguely complementary colour scheme. But hey ho. At least I got it done.

Cashmere Bathrobe grey black white skittle manicure
Day 27: A mani with 3 patterns – grey, black and white skittle manicure using Essie Cashmere Bathrobe, L’Oréal Black Diamond, OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, Cheeky and MoYou plates, and a star stud

The ring finger is two coats of Essie Cashmere Bathrobe, with a silver star stud that I bought from She Sells Seashells. Cashmere Bathrobe is a gorgeous deep grey with a very subtle silver sparkle. It is a perfect formula. I don’t say that lightly at all. It truly went on beautifully, and would probably only have needed one thick coat for full coverage, although I did two as ever. It’s thick (in a good way), glides on really smoothly, and levels well to a perfect finish.

I’ve stamped over the middle finger, using MoYou London XL Pro Collection 14 and Konad white polish. Over the Essie base on the ring finger I painted one coat of L’Oréal Black Diamond, which is a lovely, slightly textured sparkly black polish. There’s no top coat on this. Then for the little finger, I’ve painted two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (over the top of Cashmere Bathrobe – I was feeling too lazy to take it off!) and then stamped using W7 Black and Cheeky plate CH11. The original design isn’t wobbly; that’s just my rubbish stamping!

Mina

What are you on about?!
This one not only looks cohesive to me, it looks beautiful!
Each pattern is delicate and feminine and I think that’s what brings the whole look together.
Can’t stop staring at each nail over and over again – when I think I’ve got a favourite, I look at the one next to it and bam! can’t make up my mind again 😉
I’d say you did great, Claire! 😀
