Braided nail

I can’t seem to leave a plain manicure alone. I loved how my nails looked from yesterday, but they needed a second coat and a top coat, and while I was there doing that I had a bit of a play.

I’ve never tried a braided nail before (sometimes called a fishtail braid). Lucy’s Stash has a great braided nail tutorial, which I have had bookmarked for a while. And today became the day I was going to try it out!

I didn’t do too badly, and I was pleased with how relatively simple it is to do a braided nail. I had thought it would be much harder. The only difficult thing seemed to be having enough patience to wait for each stripe to dry before adding the next one.

I decided on a red, silver and blue look and used another of my new A England polishes, Lady of Shalott, along with Barry M Foil Effects Silver.

And here’s a bit of a close up on the braided nail:

For this manicure I’ve used:
  • Base: two coats of A England Perceval
  • Braided nail: A England Perceval, A England Lady of Shallot, Barry M Foil Effects Silver
  • Top coat: Seche Vite

I really didn’t find it too difficult at all. I’m sure you’ll do a great job too.
