The Face Shop Lovely ME:EX Lemon Candy Yogurt

This is the second of the Yogurt Nails collection from The Face Shop that I bought recently. One of my readers, Leona, asked if I would swatch it. I don’t normally swatch my polishes; I just post about them when I’ve worn them. But I wasn’t too sure how long it might take me to get round to wearing this, so I did a quick swatch for her.

I used two coats of Max Factor Mellow Yellow, which is practically identical in colour to the base of the glitter polish. Then I added two coats of Lemon Candy Yogurt.

It’s a lemon yellow base with gold, lime green and copper medium hexes, as well as tiny gold and green glitters. I really loved Apple Mint Yogurt, and I love this one too.

For this manicure I’ve used:
  • Base colour: two coats of Max Factor Mellow Yellow
  • Glitter coats: two coats of The Face Shop Lovely ME:EX Lemon Candy Yogurt
  • Top coat: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-Chip

What a lovely combination of colours! I think I prefer this one to Apple Mint Yogurt 🙂

It’s really lovely and summery. I’m being a bit thick – what’s the difference between a swatch and a post?

Claire Kerr

A swatch is where you put the polish on, take a pic, post about it and then remove it. Some bloggers will swatch tens of polishes at a time, then save up the posts, or post large collections at once. I don’t usually do that. The way I blog is usually to post about manicures that I am wearing – and which I typically wear for a few days. In this case though, I did just put it on, post about it and then took it off.

thanks Claire!!! wow! it really looks goooood! altho the colour appears quite pale in the bottle, when you swatched it over that shade of yellow, it’s fabulous! i think you made the polish look better. i really love looking at all the nail photos you post. no polish looks bad on your nails…amazing! 🙂

Hi Leona – the pale colour in the bottle is caused by the thick glass of the bottle. The colour in real life is darker – and is as it looks on my nails. The base colour I chose matches the Lemon Candy’s base colour exactly, so it hasn’t darkened it.

Love this! What a really lovely shade. I wonder if I’d ever see this one in stores soon. I have a good feeling this image is going to be stuck in my head for days! My only hope is that they won’t price too much.. So pretty!

Oh my oh my, this is my favorite of the collection. Your nails are so beautiful Claire! You should definitely try the Grape and Strawberry as well if you can get your paws on it. I bet it would look great on you.

Lacquerisa: I got them from Korea (online) for only less than 2 dollars per bottle, but I’m not sure how you can buy these outside of Asia. They shouldn’t be too expensive, but the shipping might.

Have any of you had any problems with the formula? Mine were really streaky, draggy, and took for ever to dry. I haven’t heard anyone on blogs on these problems yet. Am I the only one? >.<
