Blue and Silver Filigree Nails | 26 Great Nail Art Ideas
Nail blog posts from me are a bit like buses: none for a month and then two come along at once! So after a bit of a break, I’m back to posting with some blue and silver filigree nails.
These are for a new challenge: 26 Great Nail Art Ideas. It’s a once a fortnight challenge, with various prompts that you can see in the graphic below. I still haven’t finished the last challenge, but I only have a couple of manicures to do, so can hopefully catch up with those.
The base for this manicure is Chanel Blue Rebel, part of the Les Jeans collection from 2011’s Fashion’s Night Out. This collection of three blue polishes came out just before I got into painting my nails. I bought Blue Boy straight away, but the other two – Coco Blue and Blue Rebel – weren’t readily available any more. I managed to snag them much later – and for a much higher price than the usual retail price. But, I love all three of them, so the price paid was worth it.
On the middle nails (and my unseen thumb nails) are some silver filigree stickers. These filigrees are from All That Jazz. I was a bit unsure how they would work out before I tried them. I’ve never had the greatest of luck with nail wraps, which seem not to want to follow the curve of my nails. I always end up with lumps and bumps. But perhaps because these have holes in them, and are made of a flexible plasticky sort of material, they curved brilliantly with my nails. They went on so quickly and easily, it was untrue. The curve of the cuticle end and the width perfectly matched my own nails. After I had placed them, all I had to do was to trim off a bit of length using some cuticle nippers.
Thes filigree stickers are extremely impressive. They’re not expensive either. You can get them for £1.79 a pack from All That Jazz. They come in 17 different design and six colours, including gold, silver and four neon colours. This particular design is Bouquet in silver.
When I looked at the manicure photographs, I wasn’t very pleased with them. So, I added some top coat. But they didn’t photograph well either. And seeing as these filigrees look absolutely fine (except on camera, it seems) without top coat, then those are the pictures I chose to post. They don’t really do these complete justice, and I wish I could have photographed them better.
- Colour: two coats of Chanel Blue Rebel
- Filigrees: All That Jazz Bouquet in silver
- Top coat: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri (on the plain blue nails only)

The All That Jazz filigrees were sent to me for review. All views expressed in this post are my own, honest and unbiased opinions.
