33DC Day 21: Europe

So, on day 21 of the Crumpet’s Nail Tarts 33 Day Challenge we travel to Europe.

I grew up in the 1970s amid social and cultural reminders of Britain’s heritage of “splendid isolation”. I had a sense that we weren’t part of Europe, that it was a different place altogether, a group of seemingly unspecified countries collectively referred to as “the continent”. I’m just about old enough to remember the UK joining the EEC (EU), but even though that was forty years ago, Britons still don’t universally regard themselves as being European.

That label is reserved for the other countries that make up the land mass of continental Europe. Including Britain, there are 50, incredibly diverse countries to choose from. I chose to stay pretty close to home and went with Paris, France.

I love Paris, and it’s known as the “city of love”, hence the hearts. I’ve also used L’Oréal Parisian Rooftops as my base colour.

Paris Eiffel Tower and hearts stamping manicure
33DC: Day 21 – Europe – stamping over L’Oréal Parisian Rooftops using Barry M Foil Effects Silver and Bundle Monster plates BM-317 and BM-419

I’ve stamped using Barry M Foil Effects Silver. The hearts come from Bundle Monster plate BM-317 and the Eiffel Tower and word Paris are from the new Bundle Monster Create Your Own collection, plate BM-419. I used my new MoYou London stamper, which I have to say is fantastic. It’s an extra large stamper and looks a bit like the squishy stampers that are available. It’s firmer than the squishy stamper though, and more pliable than the pink Konad stamper. It covers the nail brilliantly and I’m so pleased with it.

Such a cute base colour – very autumn! And I love that heart stamping pattern!

It’s a lovely dusky grey-purple and perfect for Autumn and Winter. And the heart stamp is definitely one of my favourites.
