Red, Orange and Green Flowers (52 Week Challenge)
The two themes for this week’s (well, last week’s) 52 Week Pick n Mix Challenge are plaid and/or orange, red and green. I went for the colours and created a red, orange and green floral manicure.
This is done with all Barry M polishes: Blood Orange (red), Satsuma (orange), Spring Green (green, obviously) and Cotton, for the white base.
You can’t see the orange very well though. A brighter or paler orange would have shown up better.
I would have painted these yesterday, so that I could post them (just) in time, but I ended up having heat exhaustion after sitting in the sun for four hours watching my son play cricket.
Because I wasn’t feeling well, we went straight home. After downing several glasses of water in an attempt to rapidly rehydrate myself, I then spent the next four hours asleep on the sofa. It wouldn’t have been too much of a problem, except it was our wedding anniversary and my husband and I had planned on going out for lunch. It would have been lovely yesterday, as the cricket was in Barnes, on the Thames, and there are some lovely restaurants and pubs around there on the river.
But, it wasn’t to be. The sun and I don’t get along, and it got the better of me. I should really know better. Some sort of hat is in order before the next match.
- Red nails: two coats of Barry M Blood Orange
- Floral nails: two coats of Barry M Cotton, Barry M Blood Orange, Barry M Satsuma and Barry M Spring Green
- Top coat: Glisten & Glow HK Girl

Oh Claire, I hope you feel much better!
Love this mani, it looks great
Thanks, I feel fine today 🙂
BTW, I edited your blog link – you put “paintednailsandbakingnails”!! I wondered why your comment needed to be approved. The system can’t have recognised you!
Ooh pretty. It looks like poppies! I love this.
It does look a bit like poppies. In fact, I was going to put a black dot in the centre, which definitely would have made them poppies then!
I’m clearly jetlagged! Thank you for the edit and I’m glad you feel better
