Hawaiian Hibiscus Stamped Gradient: Tropical: GOT Polish Challenge

For today’s tropical prompt in the Golden Oldie Thursday (GOT) Polish Challenge I immediately thought of the ubiquitous Hawaiian floral print. I checked to see if Hawaii is in the tropics and happily discovered that it is (just). A little more research revealed that the flower that features is a Hawaiian Hibiscus. And after yet more Googling, I discovered that I own some stamping plates with this flower on them. Bingo! A manicure was born.

Once I had the image, I needed a background. I’ve chosen to go with some bright colours in a gradient, and it was a happy accident that I chose two Barry M polishes – Guava and Mango – both of which are named after tropical fruits. They’re not a year old, but eleven months will have to suffice as I don’t have any other suitable colours.

As ever, my camera just cannot cope with orange, regardless of the settings I change, or how I set the white balance. However the lovely vibrant colour you can see in the bottle is how it appears on my nails in the flesh, so you’ll just have to imagine that the bottle colour is on the nails!
