Sally Hansen Wined Up

I have long been wanting to own Chanel Malice. It’s a gorgeous deep wine red, with a sparkly undertone of shimmer. But I can’t find it anywhere. It was a limited edition that came out for Christmas 2012, but I couldn’t find it anywhere in the lead up to Christmas at all. Of course, I can now buy it on EvilBay for ridiculous money, but I’m not going to do that.

Instead, I shall be satisfied with the near-ish dupe that is Sally Hansen Wined Up. Of course, without Chanel Malice to compare it to in person, I shall never know how close it is – and I can’t find any swatches of both together online either – but I’ve persuaded myself that it’s close enough for me to take Malice off my wishlist.

I don’t much like the Sally Hansen brush. It’s long and flat, which makes it difficult to wipe the hard plastic wand part against the neck of the bottle, and the brush is just a bit too wide to be able to get a nice curve at the cuticle edge. But apart from that, it goes on nicely, although dries rather swiftly (it is called Insta-Dri, after all), so you have to work fast.

Do you own Malice? Help put me out of my misery and let me know if you think Wined Up is a dupe or not.

For this manicure I’ve used:
  • Base: two coats of Sally Hansen Wined Up
  • Top coat: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-Chip
