Bundle Monster Boca Catalina

This is a swatch of Bundle Monster Boca Catalina, a bright green gel nail polish.

I didn’t know what the polish’s name meant, until I looked it up and discovered that it is a beach in Aruba. It’s a pretty apt name for this colour having now seen photos of the sparkling green Caribbean waters.

I’ve painted two coats, cured each time for 60 seconds in an LED lamp. I also added a gel top coat – not from Bundle Monster.

I’m really not a lover of green, but I adore this. It reminded me of Barry M Spring Green, which is one of the few greens I love, so I checked the two swatches side by side. They are not dupes though. Boca Catalina is bright, but not as deep a green as Spring Green is. I guess there are now a few shades of green that I like!

Boca Catalina is one of six gel polishes in the Sands of Aruba collection. There are five creams and a glitter topper. They are described as neons, but I’d only describe two, perhaps three of them, as real glow in the dark neons. The pink and orange definitely are neon, and the blue one glows a little. However, they are all lovely and bright and great for summer.

They are priced incredibly reasonably for gel polish, at $4.99 each. Or you can buy all six for a small discount on the per item price, for $28.99. Mine arrived quickly from Bundle Monster in Hawaii, within 10 days, and without any unwanted attention from the Royal Mail, either!

I’m no marathon swatcher, and particularly not so when it comes to gel polish. I’m sure my nails couldn’t take it. So I haven’t shown all the polishes of the collection in one post. Instead, you can see the rest of this summer brights collection over the coming weeks.

For this manicure I’ve used:
  • Colour: two coats of Bundle Monster Boca Catalina
  • Top coat: W7 2 in 1 top coat / base coat

Lovely! This is such a beautiful nail color. This is something that I am wanting to try out.

Ooo love love the colour! When I have swatched gels I use a peel off base coat..pops right off after so you don’t have to soak them off 🙂

Great tip, thanks. Is it a peel off base coat like NYC’s one? Or do you use PVA glue? I presume you just use it for swatching only and can’t rely on the polish staying on otherwise.

Yes that’s the exact one I used!! To be honest I had to get my nail right under it to begin with and they felt stuck lol but once it had lifted it popped right off. No mess or fuss..it was great!
