L’Oréal Color Riche Addictive Plum

I felt like I was gradually getting through my untried polishes, but I have six new ones on their way, so it’s one step forward, two steps back! Hey ho! Nice problem to have, I guess.

Today’s nails are polished in Addictive Plum from L’Oréal. This shade is darker than it shows in the bottle; the thickish glass of the bottle makes it look lighter that it really is on the nail. It’s quite hard to describe. When I first bought it, I wasn’t sure how to categorise it. From its name, it could have been a pink, a purple or a red. In fairness, it looks almost burgundy, so I added it in with my reds in my Helmer.

This is three coats. All the other L’Oréal polishes I have tried so far – and I have lots of them – have been great. But I had a little trouble with this one. It seemed to dry very quickly, and was quite thick, so I had to paint quickly. it took three coats to be clear of translucent patches, but even then it seemed quite uneven. Not the usual experience I have had with L’Oréal polishes. I think perhaps it just needs thinning a little. A coat of Seche Vite smoothed it over beautifully though.
