Ozotic 506 (Reef)

Ozotic is an Australian brand of nail polish that we in the UK are lucky to be able to get hold of via Sally Magpies.

The 12 multichromatic polishes from the 500 series were actually discontinued in the middle of last year, but while stocks last, you can still get them from Sally Magpies. If you’re not in the UK, you can get them from piCture pOlish, Harlow & Co., Llarowe and others.

This part of the 500 series range consists of multi-coloured, light-reflecting polishes. They are best used over a black or dark base and feature:

a unique light interference pigment, which creates an amazing shift of colour. It’s a magical transfomation in appearance! Colours vary depending on the angle the light falls on your nail.

506, also known as Reef, is stunning.  It typically looks metallic blue, and shifts to purple. But I’ve also seen it flash through a number of other colours, including sapphire blue, teal, turquoise, pink, burgundy and gold.

I’ve used just one coat over one coat of black, plus top coat for these. I have lots of photos for a change, to try to show the different colours. I haven’t succeeded in getting them all, sadly.

For this manicure I’ve used:
  • Base colour: one coat of W7 Black
  • Multichrome coat: one coat of Ozotic 506
  • Top coat: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri
