Pastel Halloween Pumpkin Faces | Halloween In The Wrong Colours | 26 Great Nail Art Ideas
Don’t these pastel Halloween pumpkin faces look weird? It’s not right to see Halloween done in the wrong colours! But that’s the theme for this week’s 26 Great Nail Art Ideas group.
My Facebook feed has been filled with similar things – pumpkins and graveyards and bats and witches … but done in pinks and pastels and neons! The nails look so wrong, but it’s a great idea for a theme.
I tried to think of the least Halloweeny colours I could. Pastel pinky-peach and pinky-lilac in a gradient was just perfect.
The first colour in the gradient, the peachy colour, is China Glaze Pack Lightly. This comes from the Spring 2015 Road Trip collection. It has a subtle gold shimmer to it that I could only see well under artificial light. It hasn’t come out in my photos at all. What was more surprising is that this technically a neon polish. It glows under UV light. So, that is very apt for Halloween.
The other gradient colour is Barry M Fondant. Also from a Spring 2015 collection, this is a pinky-lilac shade.
After that, I added some Halloween pumpkin faces. Traditionally these would be black, so to turn Halloween on its head, I used white. The pumpkin faces were created using nail vinyls from She Sells Seashells. I bought these last year, but didn’t get around to using them.
What do you think of these then? I can’t see this being a trend that catches on, but it’s fun to see. Have a look at all the “Halloween in the wrong colours” manicure below.
