Magic Hana Rainy Day (124) | One-step Gel

This pretty shade is Magic Hana Rainy Day; a one-step gel polish. I do love a one-step gel polish. No base, no top coat, no wiping. Just a few coats of colour and you’re ready to go. It’s so quick and so easy. So many times, I’ve removed my polish and haven’t had much time for a new manicure, and that’s when a one-step gel is a blessing.

Magic Hana recommends two coats of polish, but I used three. It’s quite thick, so doesn’t level quite as well as a thinner polish would. So I needed to use very thin coats and do three of them until I thought it was perfect. It probably would have been fine with two, but I was just being a perfectionist for the photos.

This colour is a soft lilac – definitely a very “me” colour. I’m not sure that rainy days are quite lilac in colour – more grey – but it does have that sort of vibe about it.

It removed nice and easily. I usually find that with one-step gel polishes. I’m not sure why, but they just crumble away nicely.

You can buy Magic Hana one-step polishes online. They’re usually £14.95 each, but some – including Rainy Day – are currently on sale for £6.99 (excludes postage).

For this manicure I’ve used:
