Gold with Black Chevrons: G is for: Gold

For this week in the A2Z series challenge, the theme is gold. I don’t much like gold on my nails. Gold belongs with green in the “I don’t like them” pile. But gold it is, so gold I wore (and then promptly removed again!)

I painted black first, just one coat of W7 Black, and then added skinny chevron nail vinyls before layering on two coats of Ciaté Ladylike Luxe.

I don’t like these nails. They don’t look good with my skin tone and they aren’t executed very well either. I think the gold looks a bit flat; perhaps some glitter would have helped. I had been hoping to do these nails and then wear them tomorrow for the Christmas lunch I am going to. But I’ve had to rethink. The irony is that I am probably going with gold! Seventeen Charm Bracelet, I think.

For this manicure I’ve used:
  • Base colour: one coat of W7 Black
  • Chevrons: Nail Vinyls skinny chevrons
  • Top colour: two coats of Ciaté Ladylike Luxe
  • Top coat:Sally Hansen Insta-Dri

This is indeed a pretty one. Love the gold base color with the black line. I myself love gold for they look so classy and elegant.

I’m with you, I do not usually like gold on my fingers. No thank you to old lady hands (which is what my hands look like with gold on!). Anyway, I do like this look though!
