Revlon Fashionista Stamped with Sally Hansen Shiny Penny: E is for: Elegant

E is for elegant in this week’s A2Z series challenge. The problem with this theme is that it’s very subjective and all in the interpretation. One nail polish addict’s ‘elegant’ is another’s ‘crude’ or ‘plain’.

The most elegant nails I think I’ve ever done are some gold stamping over a burgundy Chanel polish. I thought they looked elegant. Or certainly the colour combination and the actual stamp I used looked elegant.

In seeking to reproduce something similar therefore, I chose a metallic copper polish, Sally Hansen Shiny Penny, and teamed it with its colour wheel complement, teal. For that, I chose a dark teal in Revlon Fashionista. It’s a polish that’s been unworn for two years, so it was nice to rescue it from the untried drawer (well, there’s two drawers and a box really).

The stamp is CICI & SISI 05. It’s the same plate as I used before, and I chose a similar, fine-lined leafy plant. I don’t think I nailed elegant; in fact, far from it. But they”re nice all the same.

This is lovely! The colour combo is perfect! And I like that it’s so subjective, because that way you get to see a whole range of different things 🙂

That’s true enough – there were lots of lovely manicures, al of them elegant in different ways.

You are the queen of matching colours together – this manicure as ever is perfection. This is totally elegant – reminds me of really expensive hand painted/printed designer wallpaper in a georgian style drawing room 😀 LOVVVVEEEE. Need to get me some of those stamping plates too!

I have been so pleased with my CICI & SISI plates – I would really recommend them. I have more coming for Christmas 😉
