Union Jack accent nail for the 60th anniversary of the Queen’s coronation
Today across the UK, many people are celebrating The Big Lunch. It’s a chance to get together with neighbours and have lunch in “a simple act of community, friendship and fun”. Our road is holding a street party, and as today also marks the 60th anniversary of the Queen’s coronation, we’ve also had a bit of a royal flavour to our party today.
In honour of that, I thought I’d try to recreate the British flag on my nails. I’ve never done it before, and I have to say it took a long time; over an hour. So in the end, I only did one nail, as an accent.
It wasn’t hard, but it was fiddly and time-consuming. I’m a bit of a perfectionist, so I kept going over the bits that I wasn’t happy with until I got it as straight and as uniform as I could manage. You can see a bit of patchiness in the larger red lines, but apart from that, I’m really proud of my effort.
