Christmas Day nails: Barry M Red Glitter

I was going to wear KBShimmer Snow Way on my nails for today.  But I did a sudden last minute u-turn and went for sparkly rather than snowy.

I can’t believe this is the first outing for Red Glitter. And I can’t believe how much I love it. My first red sparkly love was Essie Leading Lady. Later, I felt let down by its gloopy formula when I discovered China Glaze Ruby Pumps. But Barry M Red Glitter trumps them both. It’s very easy to apply and the most sparkly. Although, as ever, I just cannot get this to show up on camera. I know I need to add in some incandescent light along with my daylight bulb lighting. But I don’t have anything suitable at the moment. Using flash shows up the glitter but means the rest of the image is too dark as it’s not governed by the manual settings I use when I photograph my nails using my light tent. Hey ho. You’ll just have to imagine the sparkle for yourselves (unless you own Red Glitter, in which case you already know how wonderful it is).

I used Gelous for the first time too. I added two coats before my usual top coat and it smoothed it down beautifully.

I hope you’ve had a wonderful Christmas Day. I don’t much like Christmas, except vicariously through my hyper-excited ten year-old son, but my glittery red nails cheered me up.

Ooh didn’t know Barry M did a sparkly red. I’ll going to have a look for it and see what other sparkly’s he does. Happy New Year 🙂

They do lots of lovely glitters – my other favourites are Magenta Glitter and Amethyst Glitter 🙂
