Purple Fishbraid | 40 Great Nail Art Ideas

I got lucky with the prompt for 40 Great Nail Art Ideas this week. The theme is three colours of purple, and my personal prompt is fishbraid – which needs three colours. So purple fishbraid nails was an easy one to do.

I used three Barry M polishes: Bright Purple, Plum and Lilac Foil. I’ve not done a purple fishbraid before – I’ve done blue and red/silver and navy. I think it looks really nice in purple.

I didn’t do them very carefully and they’re not perfect. I saw some braided nails just yesterday that someone had done on a silicon mat. They were beautifully straight and clean-looking. That’s definitely the way to go I think. I do love the look of fishbraided nails, but they take so long to do. I don’t find them difficult to do at all; it’s just the waiting for each stripe of colour to dry that takes the time.

I’ve been really busy recently and am only coming to these prompts at the last minute. I have to get my act together. Next week it’s films, and I have an idea to do something that is a little complicated and time-consuming, so I can’t just do it quickly late Friday night or early Saturday morning.

I really like your fishbraid mani, the first and only time thus far mine were not so great at all, i think that my nails were also too short then. You have the skill for this one, but i have to agree it does take a long time to do this!

Nikki
