MUA Fur-Effect Nails Fluffy Bobbin
I received nail mail from MUA the other day and was excited to try it out. Apart from some polishes, I also ordered some of their new “Fur-Effects Nails” products. These are little pots of flocking powder – and they’re great value at only £2.
It’s really easy to apply. First you just use a coat or two of a similar nail polish, in case of any bald spots. The instructions say to put the flocking powder on when your second coat is still wet. My manicure was a day old though, so I just used a coat of clear nail polish. I didn’t use a quick-drying top coat, just a normal clear polish. Then you simply press your nail into the pot and roll it around a bit. After 30 seconds you can gently wipe off any excess with a brush, then after another 30 seconds, it’s OK to touch it.
It’s fab stuff. It feels a bit like velvet (which I usually can’t bear to touch) and it wears really well. You can wash your hands or have a shower and it stays put and the colour doesn’t run either. I’ve not tried using anything else on my hands though – like moisturiser or cuticle oil.
Fluffy Bobbin is a purple colour. It doesn’t go brilliantly with my manicure – because the purple of my Revlon Plum Night nail polish is too dark. But I have plans for an “Everything But the Kitchen Sink” manicure anyway, so I didn’t mind. When I use it again, I’ll choose a polish that’s closer in colour, or will probably do all my nails rather than just an accent nail.
- Base: two coats of Revlon Plum Night
- Top coat: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-Chip
- Accent nail: MUA Fur-Effect Nails – Fluffy Bobbin

I just picked up one of these instore, I got the plum one. Looking forward to trying it. I adore these cheaper MUA Polish Fads copies. This one looks great too, may have to go back for the purple one 🙂
I have this purple one and also the bright blue one, but as there are five, I’m tempted to buy them all and do a skittles manicure with them!
