Pastel Water Marble: Never-ending Pile Challenge

For the second in the Never-ending Pile challenge prompts, it’s pastel.

I seem to have done a lot of pastel nails recently, so couldn’t immediately come up with much inspiration. And it wasn’t helped by only having four or five pastel untrieds.

I decided on a water marble, and after trying with some Ciaté polishes that didn’t work too well, I used two L’Oréal polishes that worked brilliantly.

So, I have a starburst style water marble using L’Oréal Riviera Lavender, a darkish lilac, and L’Oréal Creamy Angora, a pale peach. I’m really pleased with how it’s come out.

I only did two water marbled nails – I couldn’t bank on getting more great results – so the other nails were painted in three coats of Creamy Angora over white. I wouldn’t normally paint peach over white, but I’d already prepped all my nails ready to water marble all of them.

  • Top coat: Glisten & Glow HK Girl

I think it’s just a matter of practice, and using the right polishes. You’ll get there soon enough.
