Eye Candy – It’s All Good

I was going to put some glitter over the Purr-fect Plum I’m wearing from yesterday, but then changed my mind and decided I would try out some dotting instead. My attempts were particularly woeful though, so I took it all off and started with a new manicure altogether.

This is eye CANDY LONDON It’s All Good. It’s a bright magenta sort of tone, and the finish is really shiny. It’s quite sheer on first application, but a second coat evens things out a bit. I thought it still looked a bit too sheer, so I did go with a third coat to avoid having a visible nail line.

I didn’t know anything about eye CANDY LONDON, apart from the fact that I’d only ever seen it in Sainsbury’s, so I looked them up on the web. I found this about them on their Amazon listings:

eye CANDY LONDON is a contemporary beauty brand encompassing the spirit of the “Best of British” … Created with the highest quality professional nail enamel, using premium componentry and created by our very distinctive and innovative flair.

… From luscious traditional rich colours to those mixed with speciality pigments and new technology using unique particle mixes of high reflection glitters and colours to give an  [sic] outstanding reflective finishes. This is what allows eye CANDY London to offer the widest range of high quality professional nail colour to rival all other leading brands but at affordable prices.

… We don’t use cheap fast drying formulations as we believe that the colour and wear ability is more important … We are 100% proudly sourced, created, designed and manufactured in the UK!

I’m not sure that I like their use of the word “componentry” – that’s puffed-up PR speak (and I should know). What’s wrong with saying “ingredients”? But apart from that, it all sounds good.

And I like the bottle. It has the same removable cap as the Chanel polishes, which reveals just a smaller, cylindrical handle for the brush.

Its All Good

Anyway, I chose this shade because I am going to a 10th wedding anniversary party tomorrow night and I wanted to use something different on my nails. I have had a bottle of MUA Nail Constellation for some time, and haven’t used it yet. I’ve heard that it can be a bit frustrating as the beads do tend to get knocked off, so I thought a party would be a great occasion to try this look, even if I do end up taking it off the next day. Anyway, It’s All Good matches the “Leo” MUA Nail Constellation beautifully, so that’s why I chose it.

[EDIT – read what happened to It’s All Good overnight]

For this manicure I’ve used:
