Purple and green duochrome with star studs: S is for Starlet
It’s letter S this week in the A to Z series challenge and I’ve gone for Startlet from Ciaté, to which I added some star studs as a nod to the polish’s name.
I bought this polish along with about ten others in a buying frenzy at my local The Original Factory Shop. If you have one near you, you’ll know that they always stock reduced polish from non-current collections, typically brands such as: Revlon, Sally Hansen, Rimmel, Calvin Klein and W7. Last time I went, they also had a number of Ciaté polishes. Now I own lots of Ciaté, but only because I’ve bought the advent calendar for the past two years and have also picked up some of the recent magazine freebies.
I’ve been pleased with every Ciaté I’ve used, but am not prepared to spend £9 on them. So it was with great excitement that I found some full-sized bottles in The Original Factory Shop for just £3 each. I bought just the one in the end, this one, Starlet, a purple and green duochrome. (The Ciaté website differs from my description, listing Starlet as a pearlised blue-purple two-tone polish – and it’s a current polish, retailing for £9).
Now regular readers of this blog will know that I don’t particularly care for green, but I rather like this. The purple is the more prominent colour, and I only really see the green around the edges or in quick flashes if I purposely examine my nails from a strange angle.
The other A to Zers have blogged about:
Polish Me Silly Sizzling Sunset (Deliciate Nails)
OPI Suzi And The 7 Dusseldorfs/Steady As She Rose/Show It And Glow It (Pocket Money Polishes)
Dark Metal Lacquer Sound Asleep/Zoya Storm (Penny Pinching Polishes)
W7 Salt and Pepper (Pish Posh and Polish)
La Femme Silverado/BYS Silver (AnnaBean)
- Colour: three coats of Ciaté Starlet
- Studs: silver star studs from She Sells Seashells
- Top coat: Glisten & Glow HK Girl

These stars are so cute!!
I agree, they’re lovely.
This nail polish is stunning! I’ve seen it in my local Original Factory Shop but I managed to resist buying it! After seeing your nail art with it I might just have to buy it tomorrow! £3 is such a great price! I love the star studs you added too and starlet really suits you! 🙂
So beautiful color. I like all of them. Thank you.
