Stamped Green Flowers with Bundle Monster Boca Catalina and BM-XL05

I stamped over yesterday’s green manicure with some green flowers, using Bundle Monster BM-XL05 plate.

To recap, the base is two coats of Boca Catalina, from the Sands of Aruba collection, a bright green gel polish, with one coat of gel top coat.

I then stamped a floral image from plate BM-XL05, using Mundo de Uñas Spring Green (56).

My stamping is pretty woeful – go on, I dare you to open the image up and enlarge it; it’s sloppy. I can’t blame the plate or the polish. I’ve used both very successfully before. No, I fairly and squarely blame the stamper.

I used my Creative Shop stamper, which so many people have had great success with. I didn’t get on with mine. Nor did I get on with the second one I bought. No matter how hard or soft I scraped, nor in which direction … no matter how hard or gently I pressed, nor if I rolled the stamper over the plate or pressed straight down … I always got holes in my images.

I read somewhere though that the stamper improves if you leave it out for a month or so. So I tried it again after having left it out. But as you can see, it didn’t work for me.

I’m reverting to my two trusty Fab Ur Nails stampers. My original red, fairly firm one, is awesome. And it has been joined very recently by a more squishy, translucent one – a bit like the Creative Shop one – in a gold holder, also from Fab Ur Nails. Both are great.

However, I have also been seduced by images on the Adventures in Stamping Facebook group. They are of impeccable, flawless stamping manicures using a new, marshmallow-like, very squishy and sticky stamper being sold by a member of the group. I should receive mine soon I hope, so I’ll be testing that one out as soon as it arrives. Fingers crossed I’m not disappointed.

I’m really pleased with this image plate. This is the second image I’ve used and I can see me using each and every one of them. I do love a floral image.

You can buy the XL plates for $3.99 each from Bundle Monster, or you can buy them in sets of ten plates (there are 3 sets) for $29.99 per set.
