Christmas Challenge 2013 Day 8: New Year’s Eve

So, on this last day of the Crumpet’s Nail Tarts Christmas Winter Challenge we’re celebrating New Year’s Eve (a few days early!)

I went with some multi-coloured blingy glitter over black.

The base is W7 Black and the multi-coloured circle glitter is the very appropriately named Auld Lang Syne from Tara’s Talons. I chose Auld Lang Syne as my prize from Tara’s Talons when I won a recent giveaway held by Model City Polish. The prize was sponsored by nine UK indie polish makers, so I have so many lovely new UK indies on their way to me, which I’m really excited about. I got to choose which polish I wanted from Tara, and Auld Lang Syne just called out to me. I do love circular glitter and the colours in this really complement each other well. Tara sent my prize straight away, and seeing as it was Christmas week, I think that was just amazing of her.

For the stars on the accent nail, I made my own stencils using painter’s tape that I cut out using a star-shaped craft punch. The stars were quite large, so I put two part stars on the nail. I had ordered a smaller star punch before Christmas, which would have worked better, but it hasn’t arrived yet.

I was a bit too hasty with my top-coating, and so there are some bubbles over the circle glitter nails. It’s a lovely colourful manicure though.
