Roses and Polka Dots: Inspired by Little Tip Off: April Polish Party

The prompt for this month’s Polish Party is “inspired by another Polish Party member”. It’s been suggested for quite a few months now, but hasn’t won in our vote, so it’s good that it’s finally come around.

There are so many talented nail artists to choose from, and I spent ages going through all the blogs that are listed on our Facebook group, plus a few others from people that I know have been in the Polish Party before, but who don’t use the Facebook group. It took me ages to decide, but finally I settled on Little Tip Off for my inspiration.

I saw a couple of roses manicures that Amy had painted, one of which had won a competition prize, and instantly loved them.

On her prize-winning manicure, Amy had painted polka dots over a cream base, and then added pink and purple roses around two opposing corners. I took inspiration from this and deconstructed her manicure a little, using just the pink roses, and putting the polka dots separately onto their own nails.

I used OPI My Vampire Is Buff for the base, then splodged on the rose bases with W7 Baby Pink, using the corner of the brush. Then, with a dotting tool, I added in the detail for the roses using NYC Greenwich Village, and the leaves using NYC Mint Macaroon with highlights of Revlon Emerald.

I love this look – thanks so much for the inspiration Amy!

For this manicure I’ve used:
  • Base colour: three coats of OPI My Vampire Is Buff
  • Polka dots: Barry M Matt White
  • Roses: W7 Baby Pink, NYC Greenwich Village, NYC Mint Macaroon and Revlon Emerald
  • Top coat: Glisten & Glow HK Girl
