Blue Distressed Nails (52 Week Challenge)
I’ve cheated a little here. These nails are for last week’s “distressed and/or grey” prompt in the 52 Week Pick n Mix Challenge. The challenge finished last Sunday, and although each prompt lasts a week, I aim to post mine on the Sunday each time. But I had flu, so couldn’t do anything much more than rest in bed. The cheat comes because I created the Inlinkz for the last few prompts of 2014, so I went in and extended the closing date to allow me to post – naughty me!
This is an easy set of prompts to be able to combine the two, and I did in fact pull out a few greys with just that aim in mind. But at the last minute I switched to a blue theme.
The base I’ve used is LA Colors Beach Babe, a mint green. My local pharmacy sells these polishes for a pound and I can’t resist buying one whenever I go in. It wasn’t the best brush; it was a little scratchy and so I had to paint quickly, but apart from that, you can’t fault these polishes for a pound.
The other colours are also one pound polishes: two Revlons from Poundworld, namely Coastal Surf, a mid blue, and Indigo Night, a darker, near navy.
I’ve not done distressed nails before, but found it very easy to do. It gives a nice effect in return for very little skill or patience. I’ll definitely do them again.
After the feedback from my last post about doing a second photo, with a different hand pose, I’ve done it again. Who knows, I may even carry on 😉
- Base colour: two coats of LA Colors Beach Babe
- Other colours: Revlon Coastal Surf, Revlon Indigo Night
- Top coat: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri
