Orange Roses and Polka Dots
I thought I’d have another go at a roses and polka dots combination, and was inspired by a manicure I saw on Pinterest (see below) to change my roses a little and have them grouped together.
I love this combination of colours; it’s so bright and summery.
The polka dot nails have 3 coats of Rimmel Sun Downer, which is an orangey red. Then the dots are done using Sinful Colors Snow Me White.
For the roses, I started with a white base, then added blobs of 17 Orange Soda, which is a light orange colour. I then added the detail using Rimmel Sun Downer and painted the leaves in Barry M Spring Green, and their highlights in the same polish, but lightened with some white.
I was pleased with the level of detail I managed to achieve, but my top coat has spread it out a little. I guess I should use acrylic paint if I want to maintain the integrity of the original artwork. But as ever, from a distance they looked great.
This is my inspiration, from Instagram user @nailsbyjosse:
- Polka dot nails: three coats of Rimmel Sun Downer, then dots using Sinful Colors Snow Me White
- Roses nails: two coats of Sinful Colors Snow Me White; 17 Orange Soda; Rimmel Sun Downer; Barry M Spring Green; and Barry M Spring Green lightened with Sinful Colors Snow Me White
- Top coat: Glisten & Glow HK Girl
