I wore this manicure back in the middle of February – for my birthday, as it happens.

I started off just wearing L’Oréal Mystic Blue as it’s one of my favourite polishes. We were staying away for a few days – my birthday falls in half term week every year – and I’d been treated to some polishes by my husband and son while out shopping in Cambridge. One of those was Essie On A Silver Platter, which comes from the Christmas 2013 Encrusted Treasures collection. I thought it would go well with the blue, as it has blue hex glitter in it. I’ve no idea why it’s called On A Silver Platter though, as it’s gold not silver. So I painted it on an accent nail while we were out at lunch.
