33DC Day 26: Something from Pinterest
For Day 26 of the Crumpet’s Nail Tarts 33 Day Challenge, the prompt is something from Pinterest.
I have lots of other people’s manicures pinned that I want to someday recreate, as well as some general boards of patterns and colours that I like.
I have a lovely abstract pattern pinned that I thought I could use for today, but it also works well for “the same pattern, different colours” prompt for Day 30. So for today I have chosen to recreate a very simple, but really lovely manicure that I have pinned:
It’s by @majikbeenz on Instagram. She has done it in cream and purple, but I chose to use some OPI polishes that I haven’t yet worn.
I used two colours from the OPI Germany collection: Every Month Is Oktoberfest, a purple with an orangey-red shimmer, and Deutsch You Want Me Baby?, a shimmery burnt orange. The flowers are just dotted on, and the centre is Barry M Christmas Gold, the Limited Edition Christmas 2012 polish from Boots.
I’ll definitely do this type of manicure again. It was so simple, yet drew lots of admiring comments from clinical staff and other patients when I went to have a blood test yesterday.
I have absolutely no idea what I am going to do for Friday’s prompt (3 patterns). For most days, I’ve at least had a few different ideas to chose from, or some vague colours to start me off. I need to get my thinking cap on otherwise I will be failing to post anything come Friday.
- Base colours: two coats of OPI Every Month Is Oktoberfest or Deutsch You Want Me Baby?
- Flowers: dotted on using the polishes above, plus Barry M Christmas Gold (Boots Xmas LE 2012-A)
- Top coat: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri
Have a look at what everyone else doing the challenge has come up with:
