China Glaze stripey pink, plum and white water marble
This is my first (successful) full manicure water marble. Before I started blogging, I attempted a water marble manicure on all ten nails, but it was pretty rubbish because there wasn’t enough contrast in the colours I used, and I quickly removed it. I’ve also done one accent nail water marble, which I loved and was pretty proud of. In fact it won me a nail art competition! But this is my first, proper, full water marble manicure.
I was inspired by Colette of My Simple Little Pleasures. She does awesome water marbling, and I follow her YouTube channel. Ages ago, probably at Christmas, I’d seen a stripey candy cane water marble she’d done and it popped into my mind when I decided that today I’d attempt another water marble.
I’ve painted a white base, using Beauty UK Snow White. It’s not the best white I own, so it’s great to go under something like this. Then I’ve used some China Glaze polishes for the water marble itself: White On White, Fifth Avenue (dusky pink) and Purr-fect Plum (deep plum). For the stripes, you just anchor the polish bullseye at two opposite edges, then cross through the polish side to side, making the lines nice and close to each other. The China Glaze polishes worked really well.
I’m so pleased with how this has turned out. I particularly love the little nail, where the lines are close together.
- Base colour: two coats of Beauty UK Snow White
- Water marble coloues: China Glaze White On White, Fifth Avenue and Purr-fect Plum
- Top coat: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-Chip
