Multi-coloured glequin accent nail
What are glequins, you may be asking? Well, they were called that by the inimitable Sammy of The Nailasaurus, as a conjunction of the words glitter and sequins, because they are larger than one, but smaller than the other. Cool name, I think, and it seems to have pretty much stuck in the nail polish world. (Although I have to admit to calling them hexaquins to myself!)
Anyway, the place to get hold of these lovelies is the Born Pretty Store, which is an online store based in China. The prices are very reasonable and the delivery is fairly quick too – within a fortnight in my experience. Plus, a number of bloggers sport a 10% off code on their websites that you can use. [Edit – I have one now – use ZSL91].

I had seen these multicoloured glequins used over black:
I loved the look, so decided to try it out. I was going to do all my fingers, but I have to say that I started this later on in the evening and it took about half an hour, so I called it a day with just an accent nail.
I love how my nails look, and can only imagine how fantastic this would be on all ten.

- Base: two coats of L’Oreal Black Swan

ooooooooooooooooooooooooh soooo pretty – I admire your patience, was it hard to get them in a neat row like that?
No, it wasn’t too difficult really. Because I was going for the honeycomb arrangement, they seemed to just fit themselves in nicely. My clear polish was drying more quickly than I would have liked, so it was really difficult to move them once I’d placed them, so pretty much this is as I placed them first off. I used a cocktail stick to pick them up and just spun it round to the right position just before I placed them. Not hard at all. Just time-consuming!
Squeeee…me lovey!!! That looks fantabulous dahling, a job well done. <3
Thank you 🙂 One day I will be bored enough to have the time to sit there and put them on all my nails!
