Red Lace Nails | Fashion | 40 Great Nail Art Ideas

These red lace nails are inspired by a dress and are for the 40 Great Nail Art Ideas fashion prompt.

The base for this is Barry M Nude, but apart from that, I’ve used some fantastic Moyra products for this look, which is inspired by a red lace dress – see below for the inspiration.

I used Moyra stamping plate 15, Lacelove, for the stamping. I am loving the Moyra plates. This one has 20 full size – and nice and large – images on it. About 11 of them are classic lace patterns, and the rest are mandalas, paisley and floral images.

The stamping polish is also by Moyra. It’s a red, and is labelled as SP.02 on the bottle. I don’t own a red stamping polish to compare it with. I do have some Sally Hansen Insta-Dri polishes which are quite good, but this is proper stamping polish, highly pigmented and it works so well. It’s probably comparable to a Konad. I am very impressed.

The next Moyra products I used were a clear stamper and scraper. Scrapers are scrapers, pretty much, so there’s not much to be said about that, but the stamper picked up beautifully. I own the original Clear Jelly Stamper, and the Moyra one is superior in my opinion. It is very slightly squishier, but not by much, but it does seem to be a little stickier, so maybe that’s why it picks up better.

I’m not sure which thing contributed most to the quality of this, but the combination of plate, polish, scrape and stamper gave an almost perfect image.

One final Moyra product I used, and which I also have to praise to the heavens, is the Moyra Stamping Polish Top Coat. I thought it probably wouldn’t be that great – sceptical old me – but it was. It’s not as fast drying as my other favourite for stamping, Glisten & Glow HK Girl, but it didn’t smear the stamping at all. I can wait those few seconds longer for it to dry with a performance like that.

This is the dress that I based my manicure on (apologies if you’re reading this in a feed reader – you’ll probably need to open the full post or click the link to see it):

I am so impressed with these Moyra products. If you’re in the UK, you can buy them from Nail Artisan or Rainbow Connection. There’s a Moyra stockist in Ireland and for other countries, check on the Moyra.hu website.
