China Glaze Ugly Sweater Party with Triangular Studs | 40 Great Nail Art Ideas

China Glaze Ugly Sweater Party is the base for my glitter topper or flakie manicure for the 40 Great Nail Art Ideas challenge.

My personal pattern this week is 3D or embellished, so I’ve added some triangular silver studs. I was going to add some Christmas trees, but the glitter itself is so blingy that it detracted from the Christmas tree studs.

I painted Ugly Sweater Party as a glitter topper over the top of Barry M Crush. It’s very densely packed with glitter. This is just one coat and you can’t see much of the burgundy base beneath it at all. It gave much fuller coverage than I thought it would. I’ve seen it swatched on its own and it takes at least three coats to look good on its own.

It has holographic, pink and purpley-blue glitters in a pink translucent jelly base and is newly released as part of the Christmas 2015 Cheers! collection. I was seduced by the glitters in this collection and bought another two of them.

Wow I love this! I’ve asked for this polish for Christmas and now I want it even more!!! Xx

It’s lovely! Very sparkly and quite different I think in the colours. Some US or Aussie indie somewhere has probably already done it, but I tend not to buy polish from overseas as I don’t like to risk it being destroyed, so for a mainstream brand this is quite different. Hope you get it for Christmas! (Paint your nails red or dark pink on Christmas Eve, then you can just do a coat or two over the top when you receive it – and have a sparkly Christmas manicure on Christmas Day!)
