Blue and Pink Curved Sections: C is for: Copy Cat

In the A2Z series challenge we’re on to C and the theme is Copy Cat.

I’ve copied a manicure from one of my very favourite nail arstists, NAILBamboo. She’s Russian and so I rarely read what she writes (Google Translate is not much help), but her photography is exquisite and her manicures are flawless. I’ve copied her grey and turquoise curved lines manicure. My nails aren’t as long as hers, and my colour choices weren’t right, so I’m not completely satisfied with the outcome of my efforts.

The colours I used are Barry M Elderberry and Zoya Zanna. I thought they would go well together as they are both dusky colours. But the contrast isn’t great enough. They are both the same tone, and I think it would have been a better result if one of the colours chosen had been darker.

Like NAILBamboo, I used French manicure guides to achieve the curves. I have some fairly wide ones that weren’t any good for this, but my Nailene ones were perfect.

My latest four manicures have all been lines: stencilled lines, curved lines, straight lines, diagonal lines. I must do something different next time!

For this manicure I’ve used:
  • Base colours: two coats of Barry M Elderberry or two coats of Zoya Zanna
  • Guides: Nailene Perfect Tips French tip guides
  • Top colours: one coat of Barry M Elderberry or two coats of Zoya Zanna
  • Top coat: Glisten & Glow HK Girl

I think this is gorgeous, I do like the colours you used!

Thanks – I’m just a bit miffed it’s not as good as NAILBamboo’s. Although she has incomparable skill, so I should just accept it really! 😀

In complete agreement with Brethil here – this is gorgeous! (As ever x)
